VOLUNTEER WITH LPCS.
Join our community of volunteers! We accept volunteers at both of our locations, in Chicago's Lincoln Park and Old Town neighborhoods, and have opportunities to meet all types of interests and schedules, including virtual, off-site and on-site options. We work with individuals, groups of friends and family, social and faith-based groups, and corporate groups.

Thank you!
CURRENT COVID-19 UPDATE: We have cautiously reopened select onsite volunteer opportunities (front desk shifts & classes). We will be assessing the city-wide data every two weeks in hopes to reopen onsite meal volunteering in the near future. Stay tuned for updates! The health and safety of our Guests, staff and volunteers is always our first priority. Contact Jameela at email@example.com with any questions.

Support a Guest one on one, virtually or onsite.
LPCS is in need of food to cover meals for 35 Guests staying at our 600 W. Fullerton shelter and 35 Guests staying at our 1521 N. Sedgwick shelter. You can help by preparing a meal from home and dropping if off or by donating a meal! To sign up for a meal shift, please visit our Galaxy Digital volunteer website. If you donate a meal, we strongly encourage ordering from local restaurants to support both LPCS and local businesses. If you cannot provide a meal but would like to make a donation to support our meal fund, click here. Once COVID-19 cases decrease, we will reopen our signature onsite meal volunteer opportunity where volunteers cook and prepare meals for Guests in our kitchens for a community-building experience.
Support a Guest by signing up to be a Financial Literacy Instructor or Job Coach. Meet one on one with a Guest virtually via zoom or onsite at one of our facilities. LPCS will provide a curriculum to follow, and we encourage volunteers to add in their own expertise. These classes after incredibly impactful for our Guests and aid in their ability to move toward independent housing. To hear directly from one of our Graduates about the life-changing impact his financial literacy coach made on his life, check out this episode of our Homeless Monologues Podcast. For more information and to sign up, please contact Jameela Chaudhry, Volunteer Manager, at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Support our housing staff by working a volunteer front desk shift at our Fullerton or Sedgwick location. This is a high need opportunity as our team has been stretched thin due to COVID-19. We ensure volunteer safety by practicing social distancing and offering PPE to all Guests, staff and volunteers. To sign up for a front desk shift, please visit our Galaxy Digital volunteer website.
LPCS Guests have the opportunity to learn work skills and obtain income on the LPCS Green Team. Join the Green Team as a volunteer, working alongside Guests to support neighborhood beautification by cleaning up trash and litter. The Green Team also offers snow removal and shoveling services.
